Pomaville named NCCAA Pitcher of the Week after 15 strikeout outing

(Greenville, SC) – The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon and Timothy Pomaville was named baseball's division one pitcher student-athlete of the week. Pomaville's recognition comes off of his dominant outing against Calumet College of St. Joseph Sunday night.

The Cardinal pitcher had a record setting day, with a single-game program high 15 strikeouts against the Crimson Wave. Not only did the right hander sit batters down at a high rate, but Pomaville only allowed 6 baserunners in his 6 innings of work. Calumet scored two runs in the game, but neither of them were earned, giving Pomaville a 0.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. The sophomore earned the win, improving the Cardinals to 3-2 on the season.

Pomaville is the first Cardinal baseball player to receive player of the week honors from the NCCAA this season.

Following Monday's games, the Cardinals will face off against Olivet Nazarene in Joliet, Illinois, next weekend in a pair of doubleheaders.
