(Columbia, KY) - Concordia baseball traveled to Lindsey Wilson on Sunday to begin a 4-game series. The Cardinals battled hard but fell in both games.
GAME 1 – Lindsey Wilson 20, CUAA 9
Bryon Mane, Caden Flanery, and Taishin Matsushita combined to pitch the first three innings of the game. Logan Fleming came on in the 4th and finished the game with 2 strikeouts.
Lindsey Wilson took an 18-0 lead after 4 innings. In the 5th, Justin Kozlowski hit a 2-run homer to break the shutout. Tyler Lawson hit an RBI double scoring Harrison Ryan and Josh Burke added a 2-run shot.
In the 6th, Harrison Ryan looped a 2-RBI single into left field scoring Tyler Wressel and Kyle Hebner. Hebner tacked on a 2-run homer in the 7th to continue the comeback effort, but CUAA fell 20-9.
GAME 2 – Lindsey Wilson 4, CUAA 0
Logan Morris pitched the first 2 innings of the nightcap. Mackenzie Martin came on in the 3rd inning and recorded a strikeout. Trey Acker pitched the final 3 innings with 2 strikeouts.
Drew Fleming and Logan Hylek had the team's 2 hits on the day. The Cardinals kept the game close but fell 4-0.
Concordia will face Lindsey Wilson again tomorrow in a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
