Maynard repeats as MSFA and NCCAA Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Mid-States Football Association Mid-East (MSFA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Monday afternoon and Senior Hunter Maynard was named the MSFA Mideast Defensive Player of the week and the NCCAA Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row.

Maynard led the Cardinal's defense with a career-high in both tackles and sacks. Maynard recorded three sacks and four and a half tackles for loss throughout the afternoon. Multiple of his tackles helped get the Cardinal defense off the field in their win over Siena Heights.

Maynard joins Andrew Foerster, Gavin Brooks, Gabe Whitmore and himself as the Cardinals to receive MSFA recognition this season. He also joins Casey Rauch, Gavin Brooks, Aaron Rahn, and himself on the NCCAA side of the honors.

Maynard and the Cardinals head back onto the field on Saturday, October 16 as they will host the Trojans of Taylor University with kickoff at 1 PM.
