Football's Seeger DeGayner earns honors from MSFA and NCCAA

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) and National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly players of the week on Monday afternoon and Seeger DeGayner earned two honors for his efforts against St. Ambrose.

DeGayner earned MSFA Special Teams Player of the Week, while also getting NCCAA Offensive Player of the Week.

DeGayner, a junior from Grand Blanc, Michigan, broke several records over the weekend including one career record. On Saturday, he took the Fighting Bees first kickoff of the afternoon all the way back to the endzone for a 100 yard return. That touchdown alone broke two records for DeGayner as that was hs third kickoff return touchdown of his career, and it was the longest kickoff return in Cardinal history. In addition to his Special Teams play, he tacked on 64 receiving yards and a touchdown, to finish the day with 317 all-purpose yards, which was another Cardinals record.

This is the second time that DeGayner has earned a MSFA Player of the Week honor, while this is his first NCCAA weekly honor.

The Cardinals will be back in action this weekend as they head back onto the road to face off against the Lakers from Roosevelt University on Saturday with kickoff at 3 PM.
