Jonathan Coddington

Jonathan Coddington enters his sixth season as part of the coaching staff at Concordia. In August of 2020, Coddington was promoted to Offensive Coordinator by Head Coach Joshua Schumacher. 

In addition to his role as the Offensive Coordinator, Coddington's will coach the quarterbacks.

During the 2016 season, Coddington’s receivers amassed over 2000 yards of offense with 24 touchdowns. The Cardinal passing attack spread the wealth, with fourteen different receivers recording receptions, five catching touchdown passes. Four different receivers averaged over 15 yards per reception, placing each in the top 5 in school history in that category. Leading the way was sophomore, Roderick Dailey, who broke multiple single game records versus Trinity International with 313 total yards and 5 touchdowns, as well as season records in receiving yards and touchdowns.­­­­­ Junior receiver, Herman Mason, earn All-Conference honors in 2016, becoming the second receiver in school history to earn that conference award.

In addition to working with the wide receivers, he also assisted in academic advising of student-athletes, and planning leadership, character, and spiritual development events.

Coddington came to Concordia after previously serving as the quarterbacks coach at Anderson University. While living in Indiana, he also taught high school physical education at Anderson Preparatory Academy, while coaching football and baseball.

Coddington graduated from Anderson University in 2014, where he played quarterback and earn his bachelor’s degree in physical education and health. He earned his master’s degree in Student Personnel Administration from Concordia in 2017.

From Cincinnati, Ohio, Coddington graduated from Sycamore High School in 2010. He currently resides in Ypsilanti.
