Men's Basketball grinds out 76-72 win over UNOH

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia men's basketball played host to UNOH on Wednesday night in conference play. The team was able to come away victorious in a close battle with a 76-72 win.

Zac Clark had a team-high 18 points. Jayden Priddy finished second with 13 points. Kip French and Zackary Johnson were also in double figures with 11 points each. Matt Lockhart led the team with 8 rebounds.

 

Zackary Johnson hit a 3-pointer to tie the game early on. Zac Clark added a pair of layups and Johnson tacked on another triple. The lead continued to shift with Jayden Priddy knocking down two 3-pointers for a 17-13 lead. Ethan Young and Matt Lockhart scored inside, but UNOH took a 28-21 lead to force a CUAA timeout.

Zac Clark scored twice and Devyn Jones drained a pair of free throws to start a comeback effort. Clark and Zackary Johnson drove to the basket and Kip French pulled the Cardinals ahead with an "and-1". Mason Canfield drilled a 3-pointer and Matt Lockhart had two free throws to put CUAA ahead 43-42 at halftime.

 

Devyn Jones started a 9-0 run in the second half with a triple. Matt Lockhart added a 3-pointer and closed the run with a layup. Devyn Jones had a jumper and Zackary Johnson made a triple for a 57-49 lead at the midway point of the half.

UNOH made an 11-2 run to take a 60-59 lead with 6:19 remaining. Zac Clark put the Cardinals back ahead with a pair of layups. Jayden Priddy made 5 straight points for the team and Zac Clark and Kip French hit triples.

The Cardinals made several defensive stops late in the game and Jayden Priddy drained two free throws. CUAA secured the 76-72 win as time expired.

 

Concordia will travel to UM-Dearborn this Saturday at 3pm.
