Men's Golf begins their season by hosting Cardinal Classic Invitational

(Ypsilanti, MI) The Concordia Men's Golf team hosted the Cardinal Classic Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Washtenaw Golf Club. The event was three rounds in total, with two on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. Concordia finished the event in tenth on the team leaderboard with a score of 998, the second lowest three round team score in program history.

 

Neil Heinlein led the Cardinals' efforts with a 238 through three rounds, which is the fifth best three round score in program history. He also scored Concordia's best round of the event, with a 74 in the second round, which is also the fifth best single round score in Concordia's record books.

Dalton Stiegler posted the next lowest score of 246 for the Cardinals with an eighth best three round score in program history. Travis Lysiak finished with a 255 and Joshua Line rounded out the Cardinals A group with a 259.

Concordia's B team consisted of Zakary Schroeder, Will Hieber, Andrew Burk, and Gibson Wilke who posted scores of 260, 269, 284, and 294 respectively.

 

Spring Arbor won the team competition with a score of 904. It was Spring Arbor's Trevor Rupp who won the individual portion with a score of 218.  

 

 

The Cardinals will be back on the course next Monday and Tuesday when they compete at the LTU Blue Devil Classic. The event is set to take place at the Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan.
