Men's Golf competes at LTU Blue Devil Classic, Stiegler sets multiple records

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Golf team headed north for their most recent tournament as they played at The Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan at the LTU Blue Devils Classic. As a team, the Cardinals ended in seventh place while getting a total score of 632. 

 

INDIVIDUAL FINISHERS

Dalton Steigler was the top individual finisher for the Cardinals 72 and 75 over the two days for a total of 147 and a tie for 15th place. Neil Heinlein saw the next best finish with a 76 and a 77, which is a 153 total while ending up in 27th place. Zakary Schroeder, Joshua Line, and Travis Lysiak each shot 162, 171, and 179 respectively. 

 

RECORD-SETTING DAY

As a team, the Cardinals shot a 632 which is the lowest team 2-round score in program history. 

 

Dalton Steigler set a total of two different records both as he set the lowest 1-round score and 2-round score with his 72 and 147 scores over the course of the tournament. Neil Heinlein would once again etch his name in the records with his first-round 76 (12th Lowest 1-round score) and his 153 (2nd Lowest 2-round score). Freshman Zakary Schroeder would get his name into the books with a 2-round score of 162 (8th Lowest 2-round score).

 

          

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS

The team and individual titles would go to Northwestern Ohio as they won the team title with an overall score of 557, while Michael Robinson shot a 133 which was seven under par. 

 

NEXT UP

The men's team will head back to the links on Friday when they participate in the IU-East Invitational at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana.
