Men's Golf finishes up play at the Saints Classic

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Golf headed to Indiana over the past two days in order to compete at the Saints Classic which is hosted by Holy Cross College at the Warren Golf Club in South Bend, IN. Following day 1 the Cardinals would see themselves in 11th place, before falling to 13th by the end of the tournament by shooting a 680.

 

INDIVIDUAL FINISHERS

Neil Heinlein would once again have the lowest score on the team shooting a 78 on both days for a total of 156 and that would be good for a 15th-place finish. Dalton Steigler would be next up for the Cardinals shooting an 84 and 79 respectively for a 31st-place finish and a total of 163. The third golfer of the day would Zakary Schroeder shoot a total score of 175. 

Travis Lysiak and Joshua Line would round the five golfers at the event as they shot 186 and 193 respectively throughout the tournament. 

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

Heinlein would once again add his name to the program record book after shooting a 156 for the two-round event which is the third lowest score. The team as a whole would also go into the books with their score of 680 as that is the 8th lowest score for a two-round event. 

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS

Indiana Wesleyan came away with the team championship at the event after making a jump from third to first on the second day with a 296 as overall they ended up shooting a 616. 

The individual champion would come from Bethel College (IN) as Jonah Kumfer ended both days in first. He would go on to shoot a 144, four strokes better than second place.

The men's team will round out their fall season at the Lourdes Invitational next Monday, October 10th  down in Ohio at the Sylvania Country Club in Sylvania, Ohio.
