Bowling named WHAC Defensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released their weekly award winners for Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week and Concordia Cardinals' Sam Bowling won Defensive Player of the Week for the conference.

Bowling, a sophomore, grabbed his first WHAC award of the season after a week of going 1-1 and being a crucial part of the Cardinal's 10-6 upset win over #10 Lawrence Tech. In that game against Lawrence Tech, Bowling accumulated 21 of his 39 saves on the week on his way to a .672 save percentage. He also was able to tally one of his lower goals-against average of the season this past week.

This is the third time in his career that Bowling has won a WHAC player of the week award, as he won it twice last season.

The team will close out the regular season this week with two crucial games, in order to get into the WHAC Tournament playoffs, as they go up against Madonna, Wednesday at 4 pm, and Indiana Tech, Saturday at 4 pm.
