Thomas More tops the Cardinals

(Crestview Hills, KY) – Concordia men's soccer head down to Kentucky Friday evening for a contest against the Thomas More Saints.  The Cardinals entered with a 2-3 overall record while the Saints came in a 1-1-2.  CUAA would battle to keep the game within reach for a while, but eventually Thomas More pulled away for the 4-0 victory.

Ryan Webb started in goal and became the first Cardinal goalkeeper to play the entire 90 minutes in a game this season, finishing with 8 saves on the day. The action got started early as Thomas More got their first shot on goal just over 6 minutes into the contest. Concordia's Bryce Schaner quickly followed it up with a shot high of the net shortly after. The Saints would finally get on the board in the 22nd minute to take the early lead.

Thomas More would add on another goal 12 minutes later to double their lead. Brody Smith recorded the Cardinals first shot on goal a few minutes later, but the Saints would eventually send a total of 6 shots on goal before the half ended and held their 2-0 lead in tact at the end of the first 45.

Thomas More would keep the offensive train moving in the second half, adding 2 more goals on 8 total shots, 6 of which ended up on the target. Luke Neuhaus would do his best to push the Cardinal offense forward, providing 2 shots, including one on goal in the 86th minute, but CUAA would be held scoreless in the end.
