(Howell, MI) – Concordia men's soccer played under the lights at Cleary on Wednesday evening for a WHAC conference game. The Cardinals kept the match close and generated several key chances, but a successful penalty kick in the 55th minute by the Cougars held up as the winner.

Both teams continued to trade offensive opportunities and fouls resulting in free kicks. Ryan Webb made a save in the last minute of play and the game was tied 0-0 at halftime.

Less than a minute later, Luis Ramirez was taken down in the box and drew a penalty kick opportunity. Ramirez fired a strong shot to the right of the net but Cleary's goalie dove to push the ball wide.

The Cougars earned their own PK chance in the 55th minute and converted to go up 1-0. Marcello Pinterpe and Luke Neuhaus directed shots on goal down the stretch as the Cardinals looked for the equalizer. However, Cleary was able to hold on to claim the 1-0 win.
