Men's Soccer comes up short against Lawrence Tech

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Concordia Men's Soccer team hosted Lawrence Tech Saturday afternoon for a WHAC matchup. Despite a scoreless first half, the Blue Devils were able to score three times in the second to ultimately win by two.

Concordia survived several attacks early in the first half from the Blue Devils. The Cardinals best chance came when Marcello Pinterpe hit a free kick the beat the keeper but went off the near post.

The Blue Devils came out more aggressive to start the second half, but weren't able to beat Concordia's Ryan Webb early on.

The first score of the game came 18 minutes into the second half when Lawrence Tech's Jacob Schleicher found Alex Hall Marco off of a free kick for a header.

The Blue Devils tacked on another goal when Dannan Silvestre was on the receiving end of a through ball and was able to knock home a shot after Webb initially saved his first.

The Cardinals got on the board when Bryce Ferrin drew a foul in the box for a penalty kick. Ferrin took the PK himself and beat the keeper for his third score of the year.

The Blue Devils responded following the Cardinal goal with a free kick from just outside of the box to maintain their two-goal advantage for the remainder of the game.

Next up for the Cardinals will be a match at Madonna Wednesday, October 12th. Kickoff will be at 3:00 PM in Livonia, Michigan.
