Men's Soccer falls at Madonna

 

(Livonia, MI) – Concordia men's soccer played a weekday game at rival Madonna on Wednesday afternoon.  The Cardinals battled hard throughout the game and broke the shutout in the 56th minute, but the Crusaders claimed a 6-1 win.

 

Kyri Wixom played a complete game in goal, making 8 saves.  Madonna struck first with 2 goals in the first 13 minutes to take an early lead.  Wixom remained sharp in goal with several more saves and the Cardinals trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Madonna tacked on 2 more goals early in the second half.  Elijah Macke took the first shot on goal for Concordia and the team broke the shutout in the 56th minute.  Bryce Ferrin got a break towards the goal in transition and fired a quick shot in the net.

The Crusaders were able to maintain their lead and took the 6-1 win.

 

Concordia will travel to UM-Dearborn this Saturday at 3pm.
