Men's Soccer falls late to UM-Dearborn

(Dearborn, MI) – Concordia men's soccer played a Saturday afternoon contest at UM-Dearborn. The contest remained scoreless until the 71st minute, but the Wolverines pulled ahead late for a 3-0 win.

 

Kyri Wixom played the complete game in goal, making 4 saves. The Cardinals threatened early with a corner kick from Luis Ramirez and a shot on goal by Alexander Valencia. Kyri Wixom recorded a save and the defense blocked two shots in the half as well. The game was tied 0-0 at halftime.

Both teams traded opportunities with Nicholas Corona taking a shot for the Cardinals. UM-Dearborn broke the shutout with a marker in the 71st minute and added two more goals in the half. While Kyri Wixom added several more saves, UM-Dearborn maintained their lead as time expired.

 

Concordia will return home on Wednesday, October 19 to host Lourdes at 1 pm.
