Men’s Cross Country Team Takes Third at Cardinal Invite

The Men's Cross Country team competed on their home course for the Cardinal Invitational on Friday, October 14. The course was very challenging with a lot of up hill terrain. Which made times a little slower on the day.

The team was once again led by Luke Bentz who finished 10th overall in a time of 30:24. Theodore Eising finished just 33 seconds behind in a time of 30:57 for 11th overall. The Cardinals had two other runners finish in the 12th and 13th positions as Justin Shumpert ran his first race of the season and finished in a time of 31:28, while Avery Sanchez crossed the line in 31:18. Adam Fisch rounded out the team score as the fifth finisher. Fisch finished in 15th place with a time of 32:44. To finish up the day for the Cardinals was Jared Stiver who finished with a time of 38:36.

The Cardinals finished with a total of 61 points for third place overall. The team will be back in action on Saturday, October 22 in Grand Rapids at Riverside Park for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.
