(Fort Wayne, IN) The Concordia University women's bowling traveled to Fort Wayne on Saturday to compete in the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree of the season with the tournament hosted by Indiana Tech. Nine other teams competed at the event with the Cardinals.
The jamboree featured four games and four baker sets. In the individual games, the Cardinals scored 730, 849, 738, and 856 respectively. Up next came the baker games that saw the Cardinals knock out 673, 757, 668, and 658 pins respectively. After the eight total games, CUAA finished in fifth place with 5928 pins.
Arielle Oakley was the top finisher for the Cardinals in the event knocking down a total of 596 pins and finishing in 29th place. Of the bowlers bowling three games, Emilee Hughes, Gabriella Van Horn, and Shannon Geiger were all able to contribute to the Cards fifth-place finish hitting 594, 493, and 475 pins respectively.
Other contributors for CUAA, who each played in two games, were Isabell Cooley (345 pins), Emma Price (320), Alyvia Hock (291). Playing in one game of the four was Amanda Fisher with 129 pins.
Indiana Tech took the top spot at the event as they were able to knock down 6766 pins throughout the nine games. Maryssa Carey, also from Indiana Tech, came in first by nearly 100 pins in the individual event.
The next event for the Cardinals will be in two weeks as they travel to the Cornerstone invite on October 16.
