VanHorn named WHAC Bowler of the Week after setting program record

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its weekly honors for bowler of the week and Women's Bowling's Gabriella VanHorn was given the award for her record-breaking performance over the weekend.  

 

VanHorn, a senior from Holt, Michigan, finished the weekend with a pair of top-15 finishes at the American Heartland Bowling Association events at the Super Bowl in Canton, Michigan. She set the program record for best four-game series on her way to winning the second event.

 

VanHorn averaged 197.6 pins over her five-game series and 15th place finish in the first event on Saturday. On Sunday, VanHorn finished in 1st place with a 217.25 average over four games. Her 869 total is the best four game series in program history. She would record a high game of 234 at the events. The Cardinals rolled the second best five-game team series average in program history with a 972.

 

VanHorn joins Bailey Tomlin as Cardinals to earn WHAC weekly awards this season.

 

VanHorn and the bowling teams will head to their second WHAC Jamboree of the season at the Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Michigan, Saturday November 5th.
