Women's Golf hosts Cardinal Classic Invitational

FINAL RESULTS

 

(Ypsilanti, MI) The Concordia Women's Golf team hosted the Cardinal Classic Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Washtenaw Golf Club. The event was three rounds in total, with two on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. Concordia finished the event in sixth on the team leaderboard with a score of 1232, the second lowest three round team score in program history.

 

Callie Wabeke led the Cardinals' efforts with a 294 through three rounds, which is the sixth best three round score in program history. She also scored Concordia's best round of the event, with a 96 in the second round.

Amelia Black was the next lowest scorer for the Cards with a 304 at the invitational, giving her the tenth lowest three round score in program history.

Rachel Yuhas was not far behind with a 311 and Lilly Alaspa finished with 323 strokes.

 

Siena Heights won the team competition, while there was a three-way tie after three rounds for the individual champion. Caitlin Lysher of Spring Arbor, Madeline Swett from Cleary, and Siena Heights' Skylar Whitman went into a playoff which was eventually won by Lysher.

 

 

The Cardinals will be back on the course Friday, September 23rd when they compete at the IU-East Invitational. The event is set to take place at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana.
