Fields honored as CoSIDA Academic All-American

CoSIDA All-America Release

 

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2021-22 Academic All-America Women's At-Large team on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Madalyn Fields was named to the second team for the NAIA section. 

 

The All-America team was selected from the 4 All-District region teams that were announced on May 19. In total 20 student-athletes were named to the All-America team and are honored for their success on the field and in the classroom. 

 

Fields, a senior from Waterford, Michigan, earned a 3.99 GPA while majoring in Biomedical Sciences. On the field, she was the Cardinal's primary draw control taker as she collected 53 draws on the season and picked up 34 ground balls. Fields ended her Cardinal career, second on the all-time list for draw controls at 141. She is a two-time WHAC Champions of Character of Team member as well as a two-time All-Academic team member, on top of her Second Team All-American honors last season.

 

Fields is the first member of the Women's Lacrosse program to be honored as a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-American.
