Women's Soccer takes down UM-Dearborn on the road

(Dearborn Heights, MI) The Concordia Women's Soccer team took to the road Saturday afternoon for a match against UM-Dearborn. The Cardinals were able to find the net in the first half and hold onto that lead for the remainder of the game for their first win in WHAC play.

The Wolverines came out aggressive, forcing a pair of saves from Cardinal keeper Hayley Jacobson in the first ten minutes of play.

The next fifteen minutes saw Concordia on the front foot with Isabel Stropich putting several shots on goal. The Cardinals also created many chances with corner kicks served in by Stropich.

Twenty-five minutes into play, Katelyn Aiello was on the receiving end of one of Stropich's corners to give Concordia the lead.

In the second half, the Cardinal defense had to weather a myriad of Wolverine attacks, especially early on in the half.

Hayley Jacobson ended the day with five saves and the Cardinal defense earned their second clean sheet of the season.

Next up for the Cardinals will be another road match on Wednesday, October 19th. Concordia will travel to Sylvania, Ohio, for a 7:00 PM kickoff at Lourdes.
