(Detroit, MI) – Concordia women's soccer traveled to the University of Detroit Mercy on Sunday afternoon to face an NCAA Division I opponent. The Cardinals kept the game close in the early stages, but the Titans pulled away for a 6-0 win.
Hayley Jacobson started in goal, making 9 saves. The Titans converted just over 2 minutes into the game to take the lead. The Cardinals continued to play tough defense with Jacobson making saves, but UD-Mercy scored again in the 33rd minute and led 2-0 at halftime.
The Cardinals continued to battle in the second half, but the Titans added 4 more goals to extend their lead. Alexandra Salazar came in to play goalie in the final minutes, making two sharp saves. UD-Mercy claimed the 6-0 win as time expired.
Concordia will return home this Wednesday to host Saint Francis (IN) at 1pm.
