Women’s Cross Country team competes at Raider Invitational

(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Women's Cross Country team competed at the Grand Rapids Community College Raider Invitational on Saturday. The Cardinals faced a good mix of NCAA Division 2, Division 3, NAIA and Community College Competition. Calvin University partnered to host the meet on their cross country course, which was the Gainey Athletic Complex.

Amanda Fogo showed great strength by powering through the hills to lead the Cardinals with a time of 23:45, just 30 seconds off of her time from two weeks ago, while being on a way tougher course. Chloe Gunter also showed some strength by running a time of 24:34 and finishing second on the team, while battling some sickness. Alison Doerr made the biggest improvement by cutting 21 seconds off her time from two weeks ago and picking up a personal record in college. Mary Salem finally made her debut with the Cardinals after transferring from Oakland Community College. Salem opened her season with a time of 26:48.

The women will be back in action at Grant Woods Park on Saturday, September 30th at the Lansing CC Invitational.
