Women's Cross Country finish Top-10 at Lansing Community College Invite

The women's cross country team traveled to Grand Woods Park in Lansing for the Lansing Community College Invitational.

 

The women's team showed great improvement on the season, as Chloe Gunter ran her season best time to lead the team. While being less than 30 seconds off her personal best time, Amanda Fogo finished in a time 23:48. Alison Doerr, for the second straight meet, cut a big amount of time. Doerr finished in 24:10, which is a 1:44 seconds faster than two weeks ago. Mary Salem finished fourth for the Cardinals in 25:00, a 1:48 second improvement from two weeks ago.

 

Seraphina Ferrell and Madelyn Ankoviak made their debuts for the Cardinals today. Ferrell was the fifth Cardinal to cross the line in a time of 30:06. Ankoviak was able to toe the starting line for the first time but unable to finish. Madisyn Flamini returned to compete, and completed her first 5k of the season in 31:08.

 

The Cardinals posted their first team score of the year, as they picked up 285 points and a 10th place finish. The team will be back in action on Friday, October 14 when they host the Cardinal Invite.
