(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their weekly players of the week on Monday afternoon and Men's Hockey's Zachary Janis earned the defensive honors for the conference this past week.

Janis, a senior from Chesterfield Township, Michigan, played the full 60 minutes between the pipes for the Cardinals in their 4-1 win against Cleary on Friday evening. Throughout the evening Janis would see 31 shots and would wind up saving 30 of those for a save percentage of 0.968. The lone goal he gave up would be with 1:36 left in the second period.

This is the first weekly honor for Janis in his Cardinal career as well as the first Men's Hockey weekly award this season.

The Cardinals return to the ice this weekend with a home-and-home series against Rochester, as they are on the road on Friday while returning to the Arctic Edge on Saturday with puck drop at 7 PM.
