Cheer wins 4th consecutive CIT title

(Seward, NE) Concordia University Ann Arbor Cheer took to the mats at the 4th annual Concordia Invitational Tournament Cheer competition Saturday morning. The Cardinals won the first three editions of the competition starting in 2018, and made it four in a row with another title in 2023.

The Cardinals were the first of the four Concordias to compete, and set the tone from the start. Ann Arbor boasted a routine with no deductions, which was crucial as Nebraska finished less than a tenth of a point behind the Cardinals. Ann Arbor finished with a score of 79.12 followed by the aforementioned Bulldogs at 79.04. Chicago took home third with a mark of 64.5, with Wisconsin scoring a 45.5.

"CIT is such a unique tradition with different scoring than we're used to, so we always love being able to show out in this atmosphere," said CUAA Head Coach Kate Edge. "The team worked hard for a zero-deduction routine, so they're proud of themselves for accomplishing that goal."

Next up for the Cardinals will be the Battle in the Big Easy hosted by Xavier University of Louisiana on February 10th and 11th.
