Swazey named to Overwatch Second Team, as WHAC Seasons finish up

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced their end-of-season awards for League of Legends, Overwatch, and ESports as a whole this past weekend and Trevor Swazey was named to the second team for the Overwatch season. 

 

Swazey, a freshman, played in the Flex position for Concordia. He is the Cardinal's first honoree on an Overwatch end-of-season honor and the second Cardinal to receive an ESports honor following Clayton Hoskins in the fall for Rocket League.  

 

Throughout the three WHAC Seasons, points were handed out to teams based on final positions in the conference. The Cardinals finished tied for fifth with Cleary with 7.5 points. Indiana Tech finished first in the conference, just above Lawrence Tech, with 17.5 points. 

 

The Champions of Character for the Cardinals this season was senior Chloe Smith from the Rocket League team. 

 

The WHAC honors athletes through the All-Academic team for those student-athletes of junior academic status having at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Qualifying for the Cardinals this season were; Shayne Erni (Rocket League), Madalyn Fields (League of Legends), Thomas Fill (League of Legends), and Elliot Holliday (League of Legends).
