Maynard becomes first in program history to earn MSFA Player of the Week in three consecutive weeks

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Mid-States Football Association Mid-East (MSFA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Monday afternoon and Senior Hunter Maynard was named the MSFA Mideast Defensive Player of the week and the NCCAA Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the third week in a row. 

 

Maynard led the Cardinal's defense with a game-high 15 tackles as he led the Cardinal defense and helped win Concordia their fifth straight game to start the season. In addition, he added one-and-a-half tackles for loss. Maynard added a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, which led to a second-quarter Cardinal touchdown.

Maynard joins Andrew Foerster, Gavin Brooks, and Gabe Whitmore as the Cardinals to receive MSFA recognition this season. He also joins Casey Rauch, Gavin Brooks, and Aaron Rahn on the NCCAA side of the honors.

 

Maynard makes Cardinal history as is the first player to win MSFA player of the week three times in a row. He also joins Joe Conner as the only Cardinal football player to win MSFA player of the week three times in a season (2018)

 

Maynard and the Cardinals return to action on Saturday, October 23 when they travel to Indianapolis, IN for an MSFA battle against the Knights of Marian University with kickoff at 1:05 PM.
