WEEK 4 GAME NOTES: Football opens MSFA Mideast play with top-25 match at Indiana Wesleyan

 

(Ann Arbor, MI) – After a bye last Saturday, Concordia football is preparing this week to jump back into action against Indiana Wesleyan.  The #15 Cardinals will aim to rebound from their 28-20 defeat against Roosevelt and start MSFA Mideast play with a win.  The #9 Wildcats downed Trinity International 63-6 to move to 2-1 overall on the year.  Concordia is 3-0 in the all-time series going back to 2018.

Indiana Wesleyan at a glance

Indiana Wesleyan enters the matchup with a 2-1 record and ranked #9 in the country.  The Wildcats' lone loss came in their season opener, a tight 20-17 defeat against NCAA FCS Valparaiso.  IWU went on to defeat Olivet Nazarene 34-26 and then posted a dominating 63-6 victory over Trinity International.  Head coach Jordan Langs enters his 5th season at the the helm of the program.

 

NAIA Coaches Poll

Concordia checks in at #15 in the latest edition of the NAIA Coaches Poll.  Marian remained #5 while this week's foe Indiana Wesleyan moved up a spot to #9.  Saint Francis (IN) dropped six spots to #22.  In the MSFA Midwest, Roosevelt jumped two spots to #18 while Saint Xavier entered the poll at #23.
