WEEK 6 GAME NOTES: Football looks to keep momentum at Taylor

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia football will be preparing this week for another MSFA Mideast clash at Taylor.  The Cardinals mounted a comeback against rival Siena Heights last week, winning 23-16 in overtime for their eighth straight win in the series.  Taylor had time to recover with a bye last week.  CUAA leads the all-time series 6-5, winning the last six meetings.

Taylor at a glance

Taylor enters the contest with a 3-3 overall record.  The Trojans started the year 2-0, picking up a 27-12 win over Lawrence Tech and a 52-6 blowout over Judson.  Taylor fell 45-10 against NCAA FCS Butler but earned their third win of the year against Trinity International 41-19.  The team suffered lopsided losses in their last two contests, falling 49-14 versus Olivet Nazarene and 67-7 against Marian.  Aaron Mingo enters his 2nd year as the head coach.

 

NAIA Coaches Poll

Indiana Wesleyan advanced two spots to #5 after defeating Marian 17-10 in a top-10 matchup last week.  Marian dropped to #10 after the contest while Saint Francis (IN) received votes.  In the MSFA Midwest, Saint Xavier climbed two spots to #16 while Roosevelt moved up four spots to #18.
