Football's Rauch earns CSC All-America honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sport Communicators (CSC) released their 2022 Academic All-America winners on Tuesday afternoon and Concordia Cardinal's football member Casey Rauch was named to the Football All-America list.

 

Casey Rauch, is a junior from Alexandria, Kentucky, and is studying Nursing and has a cumulative GPA of 3.64. 

 

Rauch, making the team as a punter, would punt 49 times for a total of 1,863 yards, while having an average of 38 yards per punt. He had a long of 57 yards while landing 23 punts inside the 20-yard line. Rauch would also go 2-3 on field goals and 13-16 on extra-point trys. As a linebacker, he would tie for the team lead with 66 total tackles, with six for a loss, a forced fumble and six pass breakups. 

 

The 2022 Academic All-America Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

 

College Sport Communicators is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization was previously known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and was changed to its new name in August of 2022.

 

Members of the All-America team must have participated in at least 50% of the team's matches throughout the season while also maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The student-athlete must also complete one full calendar year at the institution and reach sophomore athletic eligibility in order to qualify for the honor.
