Men's Bowling Finishes 6th at First WHAC Jamboree

(Sterling Heights, MI) - The Men's Bowling team headed east to the 5-Star Lanes in Sterling Heights to partake in the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Jamboree of the 2022-23 season. The team would see themselves in third place before the baker games and then would see the team fall to sixth place after knocking over a total of 7149 pins.

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

The Cardinals were led by senior Korey Reichard who finished the singles games in second place after knocking down a total of 955 pins and ended up only 9 pins back of first place. The second top finisher for CUAA was an 848 from Jeffrey Lizewski. David Schaberg was right behind him with 842 pins knocked over. Brenden Gossman was the final Cardinal to bowl four games as he hit 816 total pins for an average of 204. 

 

Through three games Jimmy Hunter averaged 176 by knocking over 528 pins, while Patrick Good Jr. bowled the final singles game for the Cardinals with a 113.

 

JV CARDINALS

Three Cardinals participated for the Cardinals as Caleb Gard tallied a 203 average by knocking down 817 pins, Logan Teubert recorded 794 pins and Marek Bernhardt tallied 643 pins. 

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

Korey Reichard's 955 score is the fourth-highest score for an individual in Cardinal program history.

 

As a team, the Cardinals would see the 7th highest team series average as they would average 1025.5 over the four-game series. 

 

JAMBOREE TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

The team champion from the first of four jamborees was Lawrence Tech taking the championship by almost 200 pins over second place Siena Heights. 

 

The top individual would also be from LTU as Michael Weber would knock over nine more pins than Reichard for a total of 964 pins and the first jamboree winner of the season.

The Cardinals will head to the American Heartland Tournament in Canton, Michigan the last weekend of October on the 29th and 30th.
