Men's Bowling places 7th at Kegel Collegiate

(Addison, IL) - Following a long break and entering the new year the Concordia Men's Bowling team headed west to Illinois to compete at the Kegel Collegiate Classic at Stardust Lanes in Addison, Illinois. The team as a whole would finish tied for 7th place by knocking down a total of 9415 pins over the two-day event. 

 

CARDINALS RESULTS

Korey Reichard was the team's top bowler after finishing in 31st place following the first day of individual games. Reichard would hit a total of 1073 pins over the 5-game series. Jeffrey Lizewski saw the next-best finish in 52nd place, with a total of 1030 pins overall. Brenden Gossman was the final Cardinal to bowl all 5 games and would hit a total of 1024 pins, finishing just behind Lizewski. 

 

Spencer Mosher would go 4 games for the Cardinals as he averaged 205 pins over 4 games while hitting 820 pins. Conner Lackey would bowl in his first event of the season as he averaged 221 pins over 3 games, with 663 pins. Alexander Bumpus would bowl two games with an average of 173 over two games. The final game of the individual games was bowled by David Schaberg with a score of 235. 

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

The Cardinals as a team would enter the record books with the 5-highest 5-game series average at 1038.2.

 

Korey Reichard would stamp his name into the books again with the 9th highest 5-game series total.

 

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL WINNER

The team Championship was decided following the individual games and 20 baker games were Savannah College of the Art and Design (SCAD) after they would hit a total of 9,923 pins.

 

The individual winner was named on Saturday following the 5 individual games as Hayden Stippich from the University of Tennessee Southern came away with the win after knocking down 1203 pins.

The Cardinals will have another couple weeks break and will return to the lanes on February 4th as they head to the fourth and final WHAC Jamboree of the season at the Southwick Bowling Lanes in Toledo, Ohio.
