Men's Soccer falls against #24 Indiana Tech

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Concordia Men's Soccer team hosted #24 Indiana Tech Wednesday afternoon for a WHAC contest. The Warriors came away with a 6-2 victory in the second match of WHAC play.

Early in the first half Kyri Wixom came off his line to stop a shot with his chest to keep it scoreless. Wixom came up big again later in the half with a crucial save with his feet. The Warriors drew first blood when Douglas Appiah was able to keep a ball in the end line and find Aaron Asamoah in front of the net for a goal.

Ten minutes later Bryce Ferrin scored the equalizer off of a volley from an errant header from the Warriors.

The Cardinals advantage was short lived as Lucca Motta knocked in a free kick and then scored another off of a rebound to put the Warriors up two.

In the second half, Indiana Tech was able to fight through the right side of the defense and Nathan Raguin was able to score from about ten yards out. Douglas Appiah assisted a David Ambaek goal later in the half to go up by four.

Elijah Boye took advantage of a bad pass from the Warriors to bring the game back within three. It was Boye's first collegiate goal.

The Warriors responded on the counterattack with less than seven minutes remaining when Ryan Steele beat Wixom on the near post.

The Cardinals will be on the road this Friday, September 30th when they travel to Calvin for a non-conference match.
