Men's Tennis falls at Calvin and Albion

The Concordia Men's Tennis team went up against a pair of NCAA D3 opponents this weekend as they traveled to Calvin Friday and Albion on Saturday. The Cardinals fell in both matches by a score of 9-0 at Calvin and 8-1 at Albion.

 

Concordia 0, Calvin 9

Concordia went into the match with four players, but was still able to put up a fight against the Knights. In doubles, Phillip Curry and Isaac Haley won four games, ultimately falling 4-8, while Ethan Hiltz and Ethan Szabados were able to win a game as well.

 

In singles matches, Haley, Hiltz, and Curry all took a game in their first set. Ethan Szabados was able to win three games in his #3 singles match.

 

Concordia 1, Albion 8

The Cardinals played Saturday's match at Albion with the same four as Friday. The Britons won both doubles matches, although Isaac Haley and Phillip Curry were able to take a game in #1 Doubles.

 

Each Cardinal was able to take at least three games in their singles matches. Isaac Haley kept both sets close, falling (6-4, 6-4) in #1 Singles. Ethan Hiltz fell (6-2, 6-1) in #2 Doubles and Ethan Szabados dropped his #3 match (6-2, 6-4).

 

Phillip Curry won the Cardinals' lone point with a hard fought victory in #4 Singles (6-1, 7-6, 11-9).
