Men's Cross Country rounds out Fall season at WHAC Championships

(Sylvania, OH) - The Men's Cross Country team competed at the WHAC Championships held by Lourdes University at the Ottawa Park Golf Course. The team showed great strength and fought to battle for any position they could get.

Luke Bentz rebounded from a rough race from two weeks ago to lead the Cardinals again with a final time of 30:36. Theodore Eising had another strong race and stuck with Bentz throughout the race. He finished in a time of 30:41. Avery Sanchez was the third finisher for the Cardinals in a time of 31:16. Justin Shumpert finished fourth on the team and for the third straight time finished in 31:18. Adam Fisch finished the overall team scoring with a finishing time of 32:54. Jared Stiver rounded out the day for the Men's team with an overall time of 39:11.

The team earned an 11th-place finish in the conference with a total of 330 points. The team had Sanchez and Eising named to the WHAC All-Academic team. While Noah Finley was named to the Champions of Character team.  The team will take some well-needed rest before switching to track. They will make their first appearance at the Defiance Invitational on January 14.
