STUNT teams score points in inaugural contest

Concordia's STUNT team traveled to Hiram College to compete in the team's inaugural season. The Cards, part of USA Cheer's Mid American D3 Conference, took on fellow conference schools Hiram and Olivet. The team dropped both contests first to Hiram 20-4, and then Olivet 10-2.

"With everything going on this spring season we were just excited to get to play," reflects Head Coach Kate Edge. But, then scoring points during the contest, that was amazing. This is not something that often happens when newer teams go against more experienced programs"

A STUNT Match consist of 4 quarters, (QRT1, Partner Stunts, Qrt 1, Pyramids & Tosses, Qrt 3, Jumps and Tumbling, Qrt 4, Team Routine). The Cards earned the majority of their points during both matches in the Jumps and Tumbling sections of the scoring.

"This sport is very technical, and we learned a lot through this first season. We are excited to apply things for next year and come out of the gate in spring 2022 even stronger."
