Williams named women's basketball WHAC Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, Mich.) After leading the Concordia women's basketball team to a 2-0 record this past week, junior center Trys'styn Williams has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball Player of the Week.

The standout paced the Cardinal averaging 21.5 points and 6 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field. In the Cardinals 86-64 win over Rochester, Williams totaled 21 points (8-10) and five rebounds in 21 minutes of play. On Saturday, Williams kept her rhythm with 22 points and seven rebounds leading the Cardinals to a 59-42 victory.

This is the first time in her career that Williams has been recognized as Player of the Week by the WHAC and first women's basketball player to receive honors this year as well. Williams currently ranks among the WHAC leaders in many statistical categories including points (13.8, 7th), rebounds (6.25, 15th), blocks (1.75 3rd), and field goal percentage (4th, 49%)

The Cardinals are now 16-9 overall and hold the fourth spot in the WHAC standings with a mark of 10-6. With 4 games left in the regular season, Concordia will look to build off momentum of their two wins last week first round home game in the conference tournament. CUAA travel to UM-Dearborn and Indiana Tech this week.
