Kiefer Haffey enters his fourth season as the head coach of the women's basketball program at Concordia University. In 2020, the women's basketball team reached new heights. Finishing with a 7-4 record in the WHAC (16-10 overall), the Cardinals earned the 4-seed in the conference tournament and made it to the championship game before falling in a tight contest. In the postseason, Concordia would make it to the NCCAA National Championships semifinals, eventually finishing in 4th place. Three Cardinals earned WHAC honors, with J'may Simmons and Katie Snow being named 2nd Team All-Conference and Alize Tripp was named to the All-Freshman Team. Snow was also named NCCAA All-American Second Team, while J'may Simmons earned all-Tournament team and Tris'styn Williams was named to the NCCAA Midwest All-District Team.

In 2019, The women's basketball program finished 18-13, posting (5) WHAC All-Conference Academic Team, (2) NAIA Scholar Athletes, (3) NCCAA Scholar Athletes, and (1) Champion of Character award winner. The team increased their win total by 10 from the 2018 season.

Haffey served as the assistant coach in 2017-2018 Concordia Women’s Basketball program, being elevated to head coach in June of 2018.

“I am honored to be given the opportunity to continue leading the young women in our program,” said Haffey. “We have high character student athletes that have been a joy to work with during my time here as an assistant. I am excited and eager to have an opportunity to further their development as athletes and young women.”

Cardinals Director of Athletics Lonnie Pries credits Haffey’s contributions to the program in his short time here as a key factor in this decision. “Kiefer has done a tremendous job working with our student-athletes since he arrive at Concordia,” said Pries. “He is very committed to skill and character development”
