Women's Bowling earn multiple top-10 finishes as they place runner up at Rochester Classic

(Troy, MI) The Women's Bowling team started their 2021-22 season at the Rochester Classic. Rochester University hosted the tournament at Bowl One Lanes in Troy, MI. The Cardinals finished with a score of 6222 pins, good enough for a 2nd place finish on the day. They would fall short of Madonna, who won the tournament with a total score of 6537. 

The Cardinals were firing at all cylinders at the first tournament of the season, placing two top 10 finishers at the Varsity level and another from the JV team. Shannon Geiger led Concordia with 772 pins in four games for a 2nd place finish and 193 average game for the day. Gabriella Van Horn also helped carry the Cardinals, finishing in 7th place with a score of 722 (180.5 average). 

Emilee Hughes finished in 11th place as she recorded 709 pins over four games (177.25 average).

Arielle Oakley (501), Alyvia Hock (350), Amanda Fischer (331), and Jevannie Zepeda (155) rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals. 

Isabelle Cooley also recorded a top-10 finish bowling for the JV team. Cooley finished the tournament in 4th place with a score of 759 pins in four games (189.75 average). 

Concordia will be back in action next on Saturday, October 2nd when they compete in the first WHAC Jamboree of the season. Indiana Tech will host the Jamboree in Fort Wayne, IN.
