Women's Bowling places fifth at Falcon Classic

(Bowling Green, OH) The Concordia women's bowling team competed at the BGSU Falcon Classic this Saturday and took 5th place out of the 20 varsity teams at the event with a total of 6,710 pins. Emilee Hughes led the Cardinals with a top five finish out of the 123 bowlers.

 

 

Hughes placed in fifth place at the Falcon Classic thanks to a 199.4 per game average. The freshman had a high score of 222 in her third game, which was the second highest frame of the day for the Cardinals.

 

Alyvia Hock landed inside the top 20 as well with a 186.4 average. Game three was also her highest score, as she bowled Concordia's third highest game of 213. Gabriella VanHorn finished in 35th with a total of 852 pins knocked down on the day.

 

Shannon Geiger bowled in four games for the Cardinals, averaging 188.25 pins per game. Geiger had Concordia's best game of the day when she scored a 239 in her final effort.

 

A trio of Cardinals bowled two games each in Amanda Fischer, Arielle Oakley, and Isabell Cooley. They posted averages of 180.5, 174, and 148.5 respectively.

 

WHAC opponent Indiana Tech took first place in the team competition with 7,597 pins. It was the Warriors' Maryssa Carey who won the individual competition with a 242 pin average.

 

 

The Cardinals will be back in action at Royal Scott Lanes in Lansing on December 4th for their third WHAC Jamboree of the season.
