Elisabeth Komurka

Elisabeth Komurka enters her third season as the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach. Komurka assumed her responsibilities in December of 2020, when Coach Strickland stepped away from the programs to focus on the competitive demands of his son’s golf game.

During her time as Coach, both the Men’s and Women’s programs have seen continued growth and competitiveness. The Men’s Golf Team has burst onto the scene competitively, with a total of 24 permanent records across 6 categories added to the Cardinals Men’s Golf History. Under her leadership, an individual or team has taken the reigning record in half of those categories. The Cardinals have also posted their best Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament result, finishing in 9 out of 12 teams.

The Women’s Golf Team has seen a new name in the records books as well, with Rachel Yuhas taking the 6th best overall 2-round score and 3-round score in program history as a freshman. Coach Komurka looks forward to continued progress to be seen on the Women’s Side this Fall, with incoming freshman to build upon the individual success seen in the past year.

Komurka comes to Concordia after recently serving as a volunteer assistant for the University of Detroit Mercy women’s golf team. Komurka played an integral role for the Titans program, working under the tutelage of then-Titans Head Coach Larry Hamilton. Experiences as a student-athlete on the women’s golf team at Purdue University also had a profound impact on Komurka. A member of the Boilermakers Big Ten Championship team and 3rd overall in the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships in 2013, she also received All-Academic Big 10 honors in 2016 as a mechanical engineering student.

Komurka and her husband, Andrew, have one daughter.
