Women's Lacrosse falls at Indiana Tech in regular season finale

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia women's lacrosse played an early Saturday morning contest at Indiana Tech in WHAC conference play.  While the Cardinals kept pace with the Warriors in the second half, the team was unable to overcome a first-half deficit and fell 17-10.

Madisyn Fox led the Cardinals with 3 goals.  Jennifer Miller had a team-high 7 ground balls.  Madalyn Fields led the team with 6 draw controls.

 

Rachel Costello played a complete game in goal, making 21 saves.  Madisyn Fox opened scoring in the game with a free position shot to give the team an early lead.  However, Indiana Tech countered with 5 goals to surge ahead.  Nicole Bordo ended the run with a goal, but CUAA trailed 6-2 after the first quarter.

The Warriors added three more goals to begin the second quarter.  The Cardinals ended the run when Katelynn Lawson scored off an assist from Anna KordyzonMadisyn Fox then added her second goal of the game.  CUAA trailed 11-4 at halftime.

 

Concordia continued to battle in the third quarter when Taylor Armstrong started a 3-0 run with a free position goal.  Jennifer Miller added a marker and Madisyn Fox completed her hat trick off an assist from Miller.  Both teams traded markers as Nicole Bordo added her second goal of the contest.  CUAA trailed 13-8 after the third quarter.

Indiana Tech tacked on three more goals, but the team continued fighting with a goal from Isabella Komarowski assisted by Madalyn FieldsTaylor Armstrong converted a free position shot as well.  The Cardinals stayed on the attack late in the game, but Indiana Tech claimed the 17-10 win.
