Women's Tennis splits weekend matches against Calvin and Albion

The Concordia Women's Tennis team went up against a pair of NCAA D3 opponents this weekend as they traveled to Calvin Friday and Albion on Saturday. The Cardinals fell at Calvin, but bounced back with a win at Albion to go 1-1 on the weekend.

 

Concordia 0, Calvin 9

The Knights swept the Cardinals on Friday afternoon 9-0. Each of Concordia's doubles teams were able to take a game, with Elle Fritcha and Hollie Johnson getting two in #1 Doubles.

 

All of the singles matches were won by the Knights in two sets. Fritcha and Johnson were each able to win a pair of games with Anna Leeper, Jadyn Hackmann, and Payton Woodruff getting one a piece.

 

Concordia 7, Albion 2

The Cardinals won all three of the doubles matches with Elle Fritcha and Hollie Johnson winning 8-4 at #1 Doubles, Anna Leeper and Jadyn Hackmann winning #2 Doubles (7-7, 8-6), and Payton Woodruff and Jada Guinn winning 8-3.

 

In singles Fritcha won #1 Singles (7-5, 6-2) and Anna Leeper had a comeback in #3 Singles (1-6, 6-0, 10-7). Payton Woodruff won her #5 Singles match (6-1, 7-5) and Jada Guinn won at #6 Singles (6-3, 7-5).
