Abigail Austin named WHAC and NCCAA Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly player of the week recipients on Monday afternoon and Abigail Austin was named the WHAC Setter of the Week and NCCAA Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week.

 

Austin helped lead the Cardinals offensive attack all week, providing 233 assists over the course of six matches, averaging an impressive 9.71 assists per set. The sophomore setter accumulated 82 assists, 21 digs, and 4 service aces over 7 sets during Concordia's home opening tri-match, to start the Cardinals season off at 2-0. Austin beat her previous career high of 30 assists in a game five times this past week. Her 55 assists in a 5-set match against Governors State is now the new career high for Austin.

 

 

Austin is the first Cardinal to be recognized by the WHAC and NCCAA this season.

 

The Cards will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Mishawaka, Indiana for the Bethel University Tournament. Concordia will start off against Cumberland at 3:00 PM this Friday.
