Volleyball's Claudia Grepke and Kayla Peters receive All-Conference Honors

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its 2022 yearly honors on Thursday, and multiple Volleyball team members were honored in the release.

 

Sophomore Claudia Grepke was honored by the conference by being placed on the WHAC First Team. Grepke was one of the top attackers in the conference this season as she tallied 362 kills this season, which was third-most in the conference. Her kills per set of 3.20 were the top mark in the conference as well. 

 

Junior Kayla Peters was another member of WHAC honors as she was voted to the Second Team. Peters overall was a force on the offensive and defensive end being ninth in the conference in kills with 325 and 10th in digs with 382. Her per-set averages were 13th for kills and 12th for digs. 

 

Also, WHAC All-Academic teams were named on Thursday. The qualifications for the All-Academic team were a junior in academic standing and a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The four Cardinals were Abigail Austin, Kayla Peters, Madalyn Lisman, and McKenzie Peters.

 

Megan Neumann was also recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The freshman was honored for her commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 

The last award the Cardinals received was for head coach Danielle Cook as she was named the WHAC Champions of Character coach for the 2022 season. Cook has won the award in back-to-back seasons now and will be her fourth overall honor.
