Women's Cross Country finds personal bests at NAIA Great Lakes Challenge

(Grand Rapids, MI) Concordia women's cross country competed Saturday at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. 

 

With over 33 ranked NAIA teams, the meet was broken up into two races for the 5k event - the white and elite maroon races. Concordia cross country competed in the 'white' race and took home a 21st place finish, with each of the Cardinals coming home with a season or personal best today. 

 

Graduate student Gabriela Porter (Quincy, MI) took home the first spot for the Cardinals running a season-best time of 20:07.30.

 

The sophomore duo of Anna Glomski (Kalamazoo, MI) and Megan Espinoza (Manistique, MI) both raced to personal bests. Glomski crossed the line at 21:41.70, more than 30 seconds faster than her previous best. Espinoza was just behind her with a time of 21:45.70. 

 

Also finding success in a new personal record was senior Elizabeth Trent (Saginaw, MI). Trent finished the 5k race in a time of 21:57.90. 

 

Freshman Chloe Gunter (Monroe, MI) also saw a personal best today, racing 23:02.30 and claiming the final scoring spot for the Cardinals. Lastly, senior captain Lydia Schroeder (Napoleon, OH) followed Gunter, crossing the line at 23:18.60, a season-best for Schroeder.
