Kylee Bernthisel enters her second year as an Assistant Athletic Director at CUAA after joining the staff in August 2022.

Kylee Bernthisel joins the staff after a five-year stint at State College of Florida as the head Athletic Trainer.

“I am grateful and blessed that Kylee will be joining the AT department at Concordia this Fall,” said Head Athletic Trainer Peter Benjamin. “She comes with some great experience and knowledge along with her outgoing personality and relatability which helped her stand out as a strong candidate. Her background as a college athlete and previously being a Head AT will be beneficial factors for helping her work with our student athletes and positively promote the profession of athletic training.”

Bernthisel is a 2016 graduate of Ashland University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She worked with many of the teams as a student trainer while at Ashland, while also competing on the cross country and track teams where she holds the record for the 3000m steeplechase.

Prior to her position at State College of Florida, Bernthisel worked at IMG Academy for a year-long internship working with the women’s basketball team. Other working experience includes events such as National Lacrosse Tournaments, soccer tournaments, and the NCAA Division 2 National Track and Field Meet.

Bernthisel had this to say about joining the Athletic Training staff, "I am very excited about the opportunity to work at Concordia. I had been looking to move to the area when I saw the job open up. I loved the small college feel and family-like atmosphere at Concordia. Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive already."

"We are very excited to have Kylee join the Cardinal Family," said Athletic Director Lonnie Pries. "She is committed to serving our student-athletes and keeping them healthy and safe during their time here at Concordia."
