Men's Hockey swept by 13th-ranked Warriors

(Fort Wayne, IN) – The Concordia men's hockey travelled Fort Wayne, IN to wrap up their season series with #13 Indiana Tech. The Warriors struck late in the first period of the contest to take the lead, and eventually poured on the goals in the third for a 9-0 win.

The first two periods contained a lot of back and forth action, with Indiana Tech outshooting the Cardinals 32-18 over the first 40 minutes. The Warriors struck in the dying seconds of the opening period, then would snag two more within the first 3:31 of the middle frame and hold onto that lead for a 3-0 advantage at the second intermission.

The Warriors would explode in the third period, however, outshooting CUAA 22-3 and scoring six goals on the way to a 9-0 victory.

Abel Christians led Concordia with four shots on goal. Brayden Tayles led the team with 13 faceoff wins.

Anthony Seykora received the start in net for Concordia, making 35 saves in the effort. Elijah Gibbons recorded 10 saves on 13 shots in a relief effort in the third period.

CUAA will be back in next Friday as they host the UM-Dearborn Wolverines. Puck drop is set for 8:30pm at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea, MI.
