Men's Hockey wins at Lawrence Tech

(Farmington Hills, MI) Concordia Men's Hockey continued conference play Friday evening with a game at Lawrence Tech. The Cardinals came away with a 3-2 victory, for their first WHAC win of the season.

 

Quinn Bieniek had two goals in the Cardinal win, with Brandon Troyer leading the team with a pair of assists. Anthony Seykora stopped 32 shots between the pipes.

 

 

Quinn Bieniek was on the receiving end of Brandon Troyer's pass with three minutes into the first who put the Cardinals on the board. The Cardinals then had a couple power play opportunities later on in the first period, both of which they were unable to convert on.

 

Lawrence Tech equalized not long into the second by way of Thimo Ey. The Cardinals then had their only penalty of the game, which they were able to successfully kill to keep it at 1-1 going into the final period.

 

The Blue Devils took their first lead of the game halfway through the third period. The Cardinals answered back with a goal 14 seconds later from Quinn Bieniek to make it even again. With five minutes remaining the third, Lawrence Tech was penalized for too many players on the ice. Less than a minute later Derek Hebner scored the game winning goal off of Tyler Bieniek's assist.

 

 

The Cardinals will be at home Saturday, October 14th when they host Lawrence Tech. Puck drop is set for 5:00 PM at the Arctic Edge in Canton.
